Using extremely thin CT slices at 0.6mm it is possible to segment ultra-fine detail. Note the small osteophytes on the vertebral body, the small holes in the posterior aspect of the body itself, and the fact that the body is hollow. This level of detail requires a pain-staking segmentation process, but the results are stunningly accurate 3D-printable anatomical models.

The vertebrae models are life-size perfectly accurate representations of in-vivo anatomy. They fit together perfectly at the facet joints and can be printed individually or as a complete 5-piece model.
